Mount Bethel Seasoned Saints Sickle Cell workshop was an event designed and facilitated to increase the awareness concerning sickle cell disease and its effect on the human body. African Americans and other ethnicities are disproportionately influenced by the onset of the disease, and require special inpatient treatment when the disease manifest itself. BHMC and BHCS are locations that provide tertiary care for sickle cell disease, with BHCHS providing primary care, close to patient homes and neighborhoods.
