The City of Pompano Beach Senior Center conducted a workshop on drug tolerance and dependence to inform seniors on the difference between these two patient situations which can occur while undergoing treatment for a chronic or acute illness. The City of Pompano Beach coordinated two presenters who could speak about the pitfalls of taking medications, leading to dependence upon them. Broward Health promoted Margate Health Center and Annie L Weaver Health Center as access points for primary care and care coordination services, with both community health centers staffed with personnel that can assist seniors with medication management concerns.
