Vaccinations: Not Just for Kids

You never outgrow your need for shots. In addition to the vaccinations for adults shown below, your doctor may recommend others depending on your lifestyle, medical history and travel plans. INFLUENZA

WHO NEEDS IT:
Everyone

HOW OFTEN:
Annually

 

HEPATITIS A

WHO NEEDS IT: 
Adults with an additional risk factor or another indication

HOW OFTEN:
2 or 3 doses depending on vaccine

 

HEPATITIS B

WHO NEEDS IT:
Adults with an additional risk factor or another indication

HOW OFTEN:
2 or 3 doses depending on vaccine


SHINGLES 

WHO NEEDS IT:
Adults age 50 or older

HOW OFTEN:
2 or 3 doses depending on vaccine


PNEUMONIA

WHO NEEDS IT:
• People age 65 or older

• People with heart, lung or liver disease; alcoholism; diabetes; or people who smoke cigarettes

• People who have immunodeficiency disorders, chronic renal failure, or those infected with HIV

HOW OFTEN:
Dose frequency depends on age and vaccine history

TETANUS, DIPHTHERIA AND PERTUSSIS 

WHO NEEDS IT:
Everyone

HOW OFTEN:
Booster shot every 10 years
