Why are you passionate about cardiac care?
I have been interested in the heart for a long time. As physicians, we can make a real difference when we get involved early in this area. We can start at a young age with someone who may have a family history and make simple, sometimes complicated, lifestyle choices and really change the path of someone’s health care in a meaningful and impactful way.

What is one piece of advice you give to patients in order to stay heart healthy?
Move more and eat less. I believe with a lot of small choices versus big changes, you can really begin to start living heart healthier. For example, instead of massive dietary changes, try smaller portions and find ways to incorporate more movements such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator. So, week over week, month over month, you build and make a slightly healthier choices and really modify your behavior to be more heart healthy.
