Fort Lauderdale, Florida -- Broward Health's Hung Nguyen, M.D., psychiatry, is being recognized for his outstanding contributions as a clinical educator by Florida International University's Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
In awarding Nguyen the "Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award in Psychiatry," the university cites that the Broward Health Physician Group doctor is "a role model as a physician and educator" who cultivates a love of lifelong learning among his students. The medical college's award recognizes community-based faculty members who demonstrate notable qualities and provide high quality, meaningful instruction.
"Dr. Nguyen brings a tremendous level of professionalism and care to his work that is evident to his peers and patients, as well as his students," said Andrew Ta, chief medical officer, Broward Health. "This is a well-earned recognition of his dedication to developing the next generation of mental health providers."
In addition to serving as an assistant professor at FIU's medical college, Nguyen delivers behavioral health care for patients at Broward Health Community Health Service's Bernard P. Alicki Health Center, which treats patients who are homeless.
