Meet Paul
Name and Title: Paul Taber, MBA, RN, Director, Patient Logistics Center
Years at Broward Health:14 years in various roles, including RN at BHN, Trauma Manager at BHMC and IT Clinical Applications Manager.
What motivates me to come to work each day: I like daily challenges and collaborating with peers to improve inefficiencies/processes here at Broward Health. My recent roles have allowed me to accomplish completely different initiatives, keeping my work life very interesting each day.
My favorite Broward Health moment: Thinking way back to my Trauma Center days, it would be working with such dedicated and caring professionals who all have the same goal of saving every patient they care for. When you help change a patient and their family's life working as a team, it lends itself to another favorite moment.
Some advice I’d give to a new employee just starting their career in healthcare: Study hard to accomplish your educational goals while you are young. Develop a work/life balance, enjoying every moment both at work and with your personal time.
How I like to relax: Boating, diving and fishing, and all things outdoors.
What I’m most proud of personally or professionally: Life took me down several avenues professionally, including furniture manufacturing, healthcare (RN) and management. I think my proudest moment was achieving an MBA. I could finally tell my mother I reached her goal of getting a graduate degree, albeit at 49 years old.
What’s on my playlist: U2, Coldplay, and lots of Country. Basically, I like all types. I’m a channel surfer.
If I could have dinner with anyone in the world, alive or dead, it would be: Andrea, my wife. Even after 29 years together, I still enjoy spending every moment away from work with her. There is no other person that inspires me more.
