FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA - Broward Health is pleased to announce Brenda Baker, M.B.A., to its executive leadership team as Chief Financial Officer for Broward Health North andKatie Kato, M. ED., SPHR, SHRM-SCP as Chief Human Resources Officer for Broward Health Coral Springs.
Baker will provide strategic leadership and lead the implementation and execution of financial operations for Broward Health North.
"With a proven track record of financial expertise and strategic vision, Brenda joining our team marks a significant milestone in the growth of Broward Health North,” said Matthew K. Garner, Chief Executive Officer of Broward Health North. “Her dedication and commitment to excellencewill undoubtedly contribute to the hospital’s continued success.
”Prior to joining Broward Health, Baker served as Chief Financial Officer/Executive Vice President for Flagler Health. In that role, she was responsible for accounting, patient financial services, revenue integrity, budgeting, and more. Before that, she served as Chief Financial Officer for Riverview Health, where she led financial operations for the hospital. In addition, Brenda has also served as Controller at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, where she was responsible for accounting, budgeting, revenue integrity, as well as internal and external audits.

Baker earned her Bachelor of Science in accounting from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, and her Master of Business Administration in healthcare from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana.
Kato will oversee the development, implementation, evaluation, and management of all human resources services at Broward Health Coral Springs.

Prior to joining Broward Health, Katie served as President and Chief Human Resources Strategist for The Human Resources Factor, LLC, a Wellington-based company that assists small to mid-sized businesses with various human resources consulting services. In that role, she provided HR compliance and employment support to a variety of small businesses includinghealthcare, legal/estate planning, and sales, among others. Prior to that, she served as Senior Vice President/Chief for Promises Healthcare/Success Healthcare, Inc., where she provided corporate HR leadership for more than 5,000 employees at 18 long-term acute care, short-term acute care, and skilled nursing facilities in nine states.
Kato earned her Bachelor of Science and her Master of Education from the University of Florida.She is also a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources and a Senior Certified Professional in Human Resources (SHRM-SCP).
