Meet Marco Mato

Marco Mata has been a part of our Broward Health Imperial Point family for just over a year. As regional manager of Materials & Distribution, he stays focused on patient care each day. "You may not always interact with patients directly, but they depend on us to give them excellent care and service in their time of need." Meet Marco:

What is your name and title?
Marco A. Mata, Regional Manager, Materials & Distribution

What is your nationality?
Mexican-American

How long have you worked at CDTC?
I just made my one year anniversary on July 23.

What motivates you to come to work each day?
We truly have a great team here at Broward Health Imperial Point and knowing that what we do for our patient/community is fulfilling.

Please share your favorite Broward Health moment so far:
I always enjoy our BHIP get-togethers. One of my favorite times was my first leadership retreat. I had only been on the job about a month. The retreat was filled with fun and games and a lot of team building. We all went around the room and shared personal stories that helped us bond closer together. That was a great day.

What advice would you give to a new employee just starting their career in healthcare?
Never lose focus on why you come to work each day. You may not always interact with patients directly, but they depend on us to give them excellent care and service in their time of need so they can hopefully get back home to their family and loved ones.

How do you like to relax?
I enjoy spending time with good friends and family, whether it be going out on the town or a get together at someone’s house.

What is on your music playlist?
I’m an 80’s baby so I’d like to think I have an eclectic taste for music. I have everything on my playlist from Drake to Post Malone, Staind to Cranberries, Pitbull to Bad Bunny, Stevie B to Phil Collins, Johann Pachelbel, EDM, Dancehall, Bachata, and of course Tejano music which brings me back to my Mexican roots.

If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
Trent Shelton. He’s a motivational speaker who speaks on life topics that hit home for me with lots of uplifting stories and positive quotes.
