What is your name and title?
Jamal Robinson, Revenue Cycle Customer Service Training Specialist
How long have you worked at Broward Health?
Almost nine months
What do you do at Broward Health?
I visit employees throughout the district and help them strive to exceed our patients' expectations through training, scripting, observations, and uniforms.
What motivates you to come to work each day?
I am excited that I am able to be a part of real change that will impact our patients and community in a positive way.
I am fortunate to be a part of the Patient Financial Services, the first line to the organization. If we are successful with getting things right from the start, we will be able to show the quality that we have, and the compassion that we give to everyone who enters our doors. We want to impact lives in a positive way, one patient at a time, by striving to exceed patients' expectations at Broward Health.
What advice would you give to a new employee just starting their career in healthcare?
To come in with an open mind and be willing to part of the change and vision of our organization. In addition, to take part in the healing process of our patients as if he or she is our own family member.
How do you like to relax?
I enjoy listening to music and jet ski.
What are you most proud of personally or professionally?
I am proud that I am willing to learn and grow daily in all aspects of my life without staying stuck where I am. Realizing that life is a journey and you must never stop, but always keep going despite any obstacles that may came in your way. Keep your faith and focus at all times.
What is on your music playlist?
I love a variety of music; it all depends on what I am feeling at that moment.
If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
Martin Luther King. I would love to speak with him about his views and how he was able to see the good even in the bad; the hope even in the hopeless; and the possible even in the impossible through his faith, loyalty and courage. Then, to ask him who was his idol or hero was that he patterned his life and mission after. I love his quote, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” Because in life we will always be faced with both, the question is what will be your stand?
