Fort Lauderdale, FL - Seven Broward Health Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital cancer patients, along with five of their siblings, are participating in The First Tee of Broward County – a program aimed at making a difference in the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. The children began the free, nine-week program on April 2, 2016.
The First Tee of Broward County is one of more than 180 chapters throughout the world and one of 15 chapters in the state of Florida. Programs are taught by Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) and Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) certified instructors trained by The First Tee. The chapter offers the opportunity for all students to learn The First Tee Program’s Nine Core Values (Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy and Judgment) and Nine Healthy Habits (Energy, Play, Safety, Vision, Mind, Family, Friends, School and Community).
