Former ER Patient at Broward Health Coral Springs Thanks Doctor Who Saved His Life

Coral Springs, Fla. -- After suffering a severe and life-threatening heart attack on December 5, 2016, Angel Gonzalez returned one year later to thank the emergency room team at Broward Health Coral Springs who saved his life.

Dr. Gary Lai, ER Medical Director for Broward Health Coral Springs and staff Celine Bedard, RN, Denise Devoti, RN and Joanne Abbott, RN (Case Manager) took emergency action in 2016 to keep Angel Gonzalez alive. Their quick assessment and life-saving care helped stabilize Mr. Gonzalez after a major cardiac event. Now, with a second chance at life, he has promised to return every year on the anniversary of his incident to express his gratitude to Dr. Lai and the entire emergency room team. Mr. Gonzalez has a 19-year-old daughter who is equally grateful to have had another year with her father, thanks to Broward Health Coral Springs.
