Fort Lauderdale, Florida -- Broward Health has welcomed several leaders with proven healthcare experience to its system.
David Weisman has been named Vice President of Managed Care at Broward Health. Weisman will be responsible for developing new and enhancing current relationships with health plans and payers to ensure optimal reimbursement for the system. He has 20-plus years of experience in health insurance operations, hospital administration and physician practice management. Weisman comes to Broward Health from Aetna where he was a senior network manager. He has a B.A. in Economics from Syracuse University and a Masters Health Services Administration degree from George Washington University.
Teresa Deasy, BSN, has been named Associate Vice President of Service Lines at Broward Health Medical Center. Deasy will evaluate care models and business issues to create strategies that will enhance service line growth at the hospital. She has been with Broward Health since 2001 and most recently served as interim chief operating officer at Broward Health Medical Center. In addition to being a trained nurse, Deasy holds a master’s degree in leadership from Huizenga School of Business at Nova Southeastern University.
Nancy Thompson, RN, a certified case manager, comes to Broward Health’s Gold Coast Home Health and Hospice Services as the new Administrator. With robust experience as a nurse executive and geriatric care manager, she will lead Gold Coast and ensure the highest quality care for patients. Gold Coast is a Medicare and Medicaid certified agency with accreditation from the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAPS). She is a certified case manager.
