Jessica Grahl is ready to make a difference in the lives of Broward Health's youngest patients. She recently joined the Broward Health team as a clinical pharmacy practitioner at Broward Health Medical Center's Level I pediatric trauma center. Throughout her two years of residency, Jessica was able to learn from critical care experts on how to manage pain, agitation and delirium.
“Sedation and pain management are vital to pediatric critical care. It’s an area where pharmacists can make a huge impact,” Jessica said.
In order to provide high quality care to her patients, Jessica stays up-to-date on current clinical practices and literature regarding pharmacotherapy. She’s also an advocate of interdisciplinary teams as they help provide a more comprehensive level of care for patients.
“An interdisciplinary, team-based approach is key to optimal patient care,” she said. “I’m very excited to give back to the community where I was born. This is an opportunity for me to grow as a clinical pharmacy practitioner.”
A South Florida native, Jessica is returning to the community she loves and is happy to have friends and family nearby. When she’s not working, she enjoys being outside in the Florida sun, whether at the beach, fishing or boating. A graduate of Florida State University, she’s also a die-hard Seminoles fan and travels up to Tallahassee to catch a home game whenever she can.
