Rebecca "Becca" Toor has always had an interest in the fast-paced environment and wide range of patients in trauma critical care. After completing her training at Orlando Health, the PGY-2 (postgraduate year two) resident is excited to join Broward Health Medical Center. The hospital's Level 1 trauma center was also a big draw for the clinical pharmacy specialist.
“I’m ecstatic about the vision for the department as a whole,” Becca said. “Ever since I started rotations in pharmacy school, I have always had an interest in trauma critical care. In particular, I am very interested in pain, sedation, delirium, as well as infectious diseases.”
With her positive attitude, strong leadership skills and collaborative mindset, Becca will be an asset to the pharmacy team at Broward Health.
“My training at Orlando Health has made me comfortable in a vast majority of critical care practice fields and I hope to be a reliable resource to my colleagues,” Becca said. “I am always looking for ways to improve patient care and decrease pharmacy department costs, and I certainly hope to become heavily involved in committees and the residency program.”
When she’s not working, Becca enjoys spending time with friends and taking advantage of South Florida’s active lifestyle. A former college volleyball player, Becca plays indoor and beach volleyball whenever she gets the chance.
“My favorite thing about Ft. Lauderdale is the close proximity to the wonderful beach,” she said. “I also love the food, the environment, boating, and going to concerts with friends.”
