Meet Pharmacy Resident Diana Christie

Originally from Canada, Diana Christie was attracted to South Florida for its warm weather and the opportunities she found at Broward Health.

A recent graduate of the Post Graduate Year One (PGY-1) pharmacy residency program, Diana chose to pursue her residency here because of the high level of care offered, such as Level I trauma, acute and ambulatory care.

“Broward Health Medical Center provided me with a well-rounded learning opportunity,” said Diana. “I especially enjoyed my time in the oncology center. The unique ambulatory care setting allows the pharmacist to play a vital role within a multidisciplinary team of caregivers to provide comprehensive patient care.”

Diana is grateful for the experience, and attributes her positive outlook to the employees she met along the way who helped her enhance her leadership and communication abilities, and who were enjoyable to work with.

During her time in the program, Diana developed a pharmacy workflow process for medication discharge counseling. “I am most proud of my longitudinal residency project. I worked with a dynamic team to create a pharmacy workflow that is designed to improve patient outcomes,” she said.
