Fort Lauderdale, Fla. -- The North Broward Hospital District (NBHD) Board of Commissioners elected Andrew Klein, Esq., to serve as chairman at their April 18 board meeting. Chairman Klein, who was appointed to the Board by Governor Rick Scott on August 25, 2017, will lead the board that governs the NBHD, which does business under the name Broward Health.
"I humbly accept and appreciate the honor," said Chairman Klein. "I thank Vice Chairman Ure for his contributions. At the end of the day, this is a team effort. We are a board that has to get a lot of things accomplished. Our finances, quality, outreach, tax reliance are all heading in the right direction. I'm thankful to have the opportunity to chair the board and continue that momentum. I hope to serve well."Chairman Klein, of Parkland, is the managing attorney at Klein Law Group, PLLC, a firm specializing in communications law. He maintains a national communications practice, representing communications companies in a variety of regulatory, litigation, compliance and contract matters, in court and before the Federal Communications Commission, NYPSC, and state public utility commissions nationwide. He previously served as session counsel to the New York Public Service Commission, where he reviewed and coordinated all session items presented for consideration in each of the five industries regulated by the commission. He received a bachelor’s of economics and a bachelor’s of government from Clark University and a juris doctor from Albany Law School. Gov. Scott appointed Klein to fill a vacant seat for a term beginning August 25, 2017, and ending December 13, 2020.
