Meet Risa Flanagan

How long have you worked at Broward Health?
35 years

What motivates you to come to work each day?
Knowing that I'm helping my patients get back to their normal lives.

Please share your favorite Broward Health moment.

The time I was able to help one of my patients start walking again after not being able to for eight weeks and seeing how much that meant to him.

What advice would you give to a new employee just starting their career in healthcare?
Take care of your patients as you would yourself or your family members.

How do you like to relax?
Going to the beach, reading and shopping.

What are you most proud of personally or professionally?

Personally, I'm proud of my sons. Professionally, I'm proud of being in the same workplace for 35 years and the friendships I've developed over the years.

What is on your music playlist?

Bruno Mars, Adele, oldies

If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, alive or dead, who would it be and why?

My parents. I would want them to know how much I appreciate the strong work ethic they instilled in me that has allowed me to have a successful career helping people from all walks of life.
