Rose Valderrosa, Breast Cancer Survivor

Rose Valderrosa has a demanding job working as the nurse manager of the coronary care/cardiovascular intensive care unit at Broward Health Medical Center, where she's worked for the past 27 years.

Her life changed drastically in May 2017 when she was diagnosed with Stage 3 bilateral breast cancer.

“I’m proud to say that I am now in remission and a survivor,” Rose said.

Valderrosa is grateful for the outstanding care she received at Broward Health, which included five cycles of chemotherapy, a bilateral mastectomy, radiation therapy, infusions and breast reconstruction. She worked intermittently during her cancer treatments and has been working full-time since January 2018.

“I cannot thank Broward Health enough for helping me through this journey and for all the support I’ve received,” Valderossa said. “God is good and I am blessed. Life is beautiful!”
