Summer Day Camp for Children with Type 1 Diabetes
Fort Lauderdale, FL - Broward Health Coral Springs hosted its summer day camp for children with diabetes with the theme, "I have T1D, What’s your Superpower?" Fifty-eight kids came from as far north as Port St. Lucie, as far south as the Bahamas and as far west as Tennessee!
The campers enjoyed typical camp activities as well as special activities, such as a visit from Superman & Batman, building their own bat mobile and eating breakfast for lunch on pajama day.
Their parents enjoyed peace of mind knowing that their children were under the watchful supervision of our BH physicians and nurses utilizing the latest technology which allows constant blood sugar monitoring via iPads. Camp Coral Kids is the only diabetic day camp of its kind in South Florida and BHCS is proud to host it every year.
