What is Pharmacogenetics?

Pharmacogenetics is the study of how genetic differences can cause variations in individual responses to drugs.

What will I learn from the results?

A pharmacogenetic test will tell you how your body metabolizes, or processes, a specific drug compound. Some people metabolize certain drugs rapidly, while others metabolize certain drugs slowly.

Understanding how your body metabolizes the drugs you are prescribed or potentially would be prescribed allows your provider to customize your treatment and calculate optimal dosing.
