Palliative Care
Broward Health’s palliative care team focuses on relieving pain, symptoms and stress of a serious illness. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for our patients and their caregivers. From the time of diagnosis throughout the continuum of care, palliative care is provided alongside curative treatment, or treatment aimed at improving quality of life. A multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, social workers and clergy provides a compassionate system of support for patients and their families. The team works together to provide optimal symptom relief, emotional and spiritual support, and assistance to patients and families in making treatment decisions that respect the patient’s wishes.
