At Broward Health, you get personalized joint replacement care from an experienced orthopedic team. We assess your needs and build a plan that fits your goals and daily life.
Our program includes total and partial hip and knee replacements, with outpatient and bilateral options when appropriate. We use proven techniques and modern technology to improve mobility and reduce pain so you can return to everyday activities.
Get clear guidance from planning through recovery. Before surgery, you’ll review medicines, learn what to expect, prepare your home and line up any equipment or help you may need. Financial assistance and insurance questions can be addressed.
During your stay, your team manages pain control, early movement and safety steps to prevent infection and blood clots. Before you go home, follow-up visits and therapy are arranged, with written instructions on wound care, warning signs and how to return to daily activities.
Physical Therapy Our joint replacement physical therapists build a plan around your goals. We focus on safe mobility, strength and balance. You’ll also get simple home exercises between visits.
Outpatient Care When appropriate, many patients go home the same day. Your surgeon will confirm if outpatient surgery is right for you and set up follow-up and home support.
Returning to Activity We help you return to the activities you love, from walking and gardening to sports. Your care team will share clear milestones and adjust them as you progress.
Insurance and Financial Assistance Most major insurance plans are accepted. Our team can review your benefits and connect you with financial assistance programs if you qualify.
View Our Accepted Insurance PlansOur implants are made from titanium and plastic, which are safe and effective for joint replacements. We avoid using materials like nickel or cobalt to minimize allergy risks.
Most patients return to normal activities within six to eight weeks after surgery. Recovery times can vary based on individual factors, such as previous activity levels, being a nonsmoker and your overall health, as well as and the type of surgery performed.
Yes, bone removal may occur but only what’s needed. For knee replacements, we remove the arthritic portions of the bone and replace them with metal caps with a plastic insert. For hips, we replace the head (ball) of the femur and provide a new liner for the hip socket.
