What Is MyChart?

MyChart offers personalized and secure online access to your medical records. It enables you to manage and receive information about your health. With MyChart, you can:

Schedule medical appointments.
View your health information, including medications, allergies, test results, and more.

Is There a Fee to Use MyChart?

No, MyChart is a free service for all patients.

What Do I Need to Use MyChart?

You need access to a computer or mobile device connected to the Internet and an up-to-date browser (such as Edge, Chrome, Firefox, or Safari). You can also use the MyChart mobile app on a mobile device.

How Do I Sign Up?

There are several different methods of MyChart signup that might be used by different departments across your healthcare organization:

Clinic staff might sign you up directly while you're at the front desk or in the exam room.
You might receive a MyChart activation code on your After Visit Summary or on a billing statement.
You might receive a text message or email with an activation code when you come in for a visit.
You might be able to use self-signup online to create a MyChart account by matching your information against what is on file in your medical record or with third-party identity verification.

When Can I See My Test Results in MyChart?

With MyChart, you can view most test results as soon as they become available. Know that you will likely see results before your healthcare provider has had a chance to review them. After your provider reviews your results, you might see additional comments and interpretation in MyChart.

Can I View a Family Member’s Medical Record in MyChart?

Yes, you can. MyChart proxy access allows you to access the medical records of your family members and others you care for, with their permission. You must be at least 18 years old to have proxy access to another person's medical record.

You might also want to grant a family member or friend access to your medical records when you need assistance managing your appointments and other medical needs. To give someone access to your medical record, grant access via a proxy invite through the Friends and Family Access page in MyChart.

What Can a Parent or Guardian see or do with Proxy Access to a Child's Chart?

Proxies have full access to a child's chart until the child turns 13 years old. When the child turns 13, proxies can review insurance coverages, make payments, update demographics, electronically sign documents, and updated end-of-life planning information.

Can Patients Access MyChart in any Languages Besides English?

MyChart is also available in Spanish and French.

Linking Accounts

If you've visited more than one healthcare place, you probably have a bunch of health records floating around. With MyChart, you can link them to your Broward Health’s MyChart account in just a few clicks!

By connecting your accounts from participating organizations, you can access a wealth of information in your MyChart, such as allergies, health history, and medications. You might also be able to view and manage messages, test results, appointments, and your care team members.

Linking Organizations

To Link your Accounts:

Sign in to your Broward Health MyChart account
Go to Menu > Link My Accounts
Search for the organization you want to link
Click "Link Account"
Verify your information by logging into the other account (this is a one-time step)
Once linked, both accounts will appear on your Broward Health's MyChart homepage
Easily switch between accounts by clicking "Switch Organization" at the top

Troubling Finding your Organization?

Linking accounts may not be an option with all healthcare providers. Visit www.epic.com/happytogether to check which organizations currently use Happy Together and which ones are planning to join soon.

Proxy Access

Proxy access allows you to view and manage another individual's medical records within your MyChart account or grant access to your own account to someone else. A valid government-issued photo ID is required for submission when signing the proxy authorization consent form.

For Parents of Children (Under the Age of 13)

If your child wasn't born at Broward Health or is under 12 years old, just ask at your next appointment or call the MyChart Patient Support Line at 954-888-3742.
Parents have full access to their minor child's MyChart until their 13th birthday, after which access is limited to review and update insurance coverage, make payments, update demographics, view immunizations, electronically sign documents and update end-of- life planning information. Minors 13 and older can sign up for their own MyChart account.

For Parents of Children (Ages 13-18)

Access to a child’s MyChart changes when he or she turns 13, because state and federal law protect the privacy of pediatric patients seeking medical treatment for pregnancy, sexually transmitted disease, substance abuse, and mental health issues.
Teen consent is required for parents or legal guardians to access their teen’s MyChart health information. Access Proxy Content Form.

For Adults Accessing Another Adult's Medical Record

You must be at least 18 years old to have proxy access to another person's medical record. The proxy will need a Broward Health's MyChart account. Access can be set up through the Sharing Hub in the MyChart Menu.
