Even though the Florida sun continues to shine and the beaches are as inviting as ever, we know that many of you are eager to embrace the flavors of fall - especially pumpkin spice! While there's a definite joy in savoring that delicious drink from your go-to coffee shop, your health and wellbeing may not be quite as thrilled with the caloric and sugary content of typical pumpkin spice lattes. But don't worry, my health-minded friends, we've got a delightful alternative that will tickle your taste buds without any regret. Come join us in our kitchen as we whip up a simple, healthy, and delightful pumpkin spice latte recipe.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Ingredients:
- 8 oz Milk of Choice (we used unsweetened original almond milk)
- 2 oz Half and Half
- 1 Tablespoon Pumpkin Puree
- ¼ teaspoon (to taste) Pumpkin Pie Spice
- Extra pinch of ground cinnamon
- 3 Tablespoons Brown Sugar Replacement (we used Swerve); to taste.
- 2 Shots Espresso or approximately half cup of coffee
- Optional: whipped cream
Directions:
1. Add first 6 ingredients to a microwave safe container, or to a small saucepan; stir or use a frother to combine.
2. Heat for 1-2 minutes; if in microwave watch to make sure it doesn’t boil over. This helps the sweetener to completely dissolve.
3. Use frother, whisk, or spoon to mix again until well combined.
4. Add to your coffee, use a little as a flavored creamer, or use a lott-e to make a latte! Top with whipped cream if desired; garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a cinnamon stick.
5. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week
