Broward Health is dedicated to providing local residents with easy access to high quality emergency care in South Florida. To support our community, we are introducing more freestanding emergency rooms throughout Broward County, which will deliver the same level of expert care as a hospital emergency room in more convenient locations. Freestanding emergency rooms provide the same 24/7 care you would find in a hospital outside of a traditional hospital setting, offering quicker access to high-quality treatment and often shorter wait times.
Lighthouse Point
Coming Summer 2026
In our constant pursuit of progress, Broward Health is transforming a 1.03-acre site on Federal Highway in Lighthouse Point into a state-of-the-art, two-story freestanding emergency room spanning 14,074 square feet. The location will feature 10 patient exam rooms dedicated to the emergency room and nine additional exam rooms on the second floor for medical offices. Fully equipped for resuscitation and diagnostic services, including CT scans, X-rays and a point-of-care lab, this new freestanding ER reflects Broward Health’s commitment to making advanced emergency care more accessible for residents of Lighthouse Point and the surrounding areas.
This emergency department is part of Broward Health North. This is not an urgent care center. Its services and care are billed at hospital emergency department rates.
Sunrise
Coming Summer 2026
Broward Health's new Freestanding Emergency Room, conveniently located near Oakland Park Boulevard and NW 94th Ave in Sunrise, Florida, brings state-of-the-art emergency care to the local community. Featuring 15 exam rooms, X-ray and CT imaging, and dedicated adult and pediatric resuscitation rooms, the facility is equipped to handle a wide range of emergency needs. With spacious family waiting areas and room for future expansion, the facility is designed to serve the Sunrise community for years to come.
This emergency department is part of Broward Health Medical Center. This is not an urgent care center. Its services and care are billed at hospital emergency department rates.
Fort Lauderdale
Prioritizing high quality care and accessibility for patients, the YMCA of South Florida and Broward Health are teaming up to develop a 58,000-square-foot care center at Holiday Park in Fort Lauderdale. Broward Health’s freestanding emergency room will provide expert, comprehensive emergency services, including a fully equipped emergency room with imaging, lab work and 24/7 care. In addition, the YMCA will offer a wide range of athletics and aquatics programs, including an aquatics facility, indoor basketball court, fitness center, youth sports, summer camp and after-school programs. The location will also feature community meeting spaces fostering a hub for wellness, recreation and healthcare.
