Welcome, and thank you for your interest in pursuing an elective at Broward Health!
The Broward Heath Graduate Medical Education Department is proud to offer elective rotations for 4th year Medical Students and provide them with the opportunity to rotate through one of our superb training programs.
To be considered for a visiting student elective and maximize your opportunity for a position, please follow the instructions below. Note all acceptance decisions are made by each respective program. Please contact the program directly for availability. Program contact information and elective information can be found by selecting the program link at the bottom of this page.
All students must apply for elective rotations via the AAMC Visiting Student Learning Opportunities™ (VSLO®) portal.
*Please contact your school regarding access to the VSLO Portal.
Submit the following documents to the AAMC Visiting Student Learning Opportunities™ (VSLO®) portal for the program you wish to rotate with, at least 120 days prior to your desired rotation date.
Students that have applied for an elective in the VSLO portal will receive notification via the VSLO portal of acceptance, declinations and holds. Once accepted an email will be sent to the student from the medical student coordinators. This will provide access to New Innovations, where the checklist of items which must be submitted prior to the beginning of the approved rotation will be provided.
All elective rotations at Broward Health must have the appropriate affiliation agreements in place with Medical Schools for medical students to be permitted to participate. These agreements must be processed through the Broward Health Office of Graduate Medical Education and approved by the Designated Institutional Official. If your school does not currently have an affiliation agreement, please send an email to the respective program you wish to rotate with for more information.
Please note that affiliation agreements can take a minimum of 90-120 days for processing once appropriate documentation has been received.
