Nephrology Fellowship Program

The Nephrology Fellowship Program offers comprehensive training in the diagnosis and management of kidney-related disorders with a strong focus on clinical excellence, research and compassionate patient care.

Welcome from the Program Director

Parham Eftekhari, D.O.

Welcome to the Nephrology Fellowship Program at Broward Health North!

This two-year program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. The Nephrology Fellowship Program at Broward Health North consists of comprehensive training in all aspects of kidney disease, including glomerular diseases, complex acid-base and electrolyte disturbances, pregnancy-related kidney disease and critical care nephrology. Fellows will also be exposed to comprehensive kidney transplant services at Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Weston, Florida. Together, these inpatient experiences will provide fellows with exposure to a unique and highly diverse patient population, including rare glomerular and genetic renal diseases.

Over the course of the two-year fellowship, fellows will complete their clinical rotations at our Level 1 Trauma Center, Broward Health Medical Center; our Level 2 Trauma Center, Broward Health North; Florida Kidney Physicians; an outpatient dialysis center; and the Cleveland Clinic.

Fellows will also receive comprehensive clinical training in our outpatient clinic at Florida Kidney Physicians—one of the largest nephrology practices in the nation—and at a high-volume peritoneal and hemodialysis center. Emphasis is placed on didactics and continuity of care in the outpatient setting. By the completion of the fellowship, graduates will have developed exceptional proficiency in the management and treatment of both home peritoneal dialysis and in-center hemodialysis.

Throughout training, our fellows will have access to clinical research opportunities, with guidance from the corporate director and manager of research, along with dedicated faculty members. Thank you for your interest in our Nephrology Fellowship Program at Broward Health North.

Sincerely,

Parham Eftekhari, D.O.
