PGY2 Corporate Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency Program

This program builds advanced pharmacy leadership skills through hands-on experience in operations, strategic planning and healthcare management across a unique health system.

About the Program

The Broward Health Post Graduate Year Two (PGY-2) Corporate Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residency is a 12-month program with an integrated rotation model, offering a comprehensive training opportunity to develop essential skills in health system pharmacy leadership. Residents will gain experience in strategic business planning, human resources, healthcare regulations and compliance, quality improvement initiatives, and other areas essential for advancing pharmacy practice. This program equips residents with the skills to operate effectively within a network of hospitals and community-based health centers, preparing them for a pharmacy leadership role within a health system.

The PGY-2 Corporate Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency Program conducted by Broward Health, Fort Lauderdale, FL, has accreditation Candidate Status with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).

By the end of this residency, the resident will be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to assume central roles in pharmacy administration. Key highlights include:

  • Clinical Practice: Twice-monthly clinical pharmacy staffing enhances training and supports the resident’s development of independent practice for future clinical leadership roles.

Qualifications of Residency Applicants

The resident must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy and have completed an ASHP accredited or candidate-status PGY-1 pharmacy residency. They must acquire a valid Florida pharmacist license within 120 days of the residency program start date. Candidate applications must be submitted through the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS®) system. Candidates will be selected for an on-site interview based on application materials. This residency agrees that no person at this residency will solicit, accept, or use any ranking-related information from any residency applicant.
