About the Program

The Broward Health Medical Center’s Pharmacy Post Graduate Year One (PGY-1) residency is a 52-week training program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). This residency aims to expand and enrich education and experience, fostering the development and refinement of knowledge and skills in optimizing drug therapy for patients with diverse medical conditions. Residents play an active role in comprehensive and advanced pharmacy services, participating in both clinical and operational pharmacy functions. The program provides avenues for residents to broaden their expertise through specialized training in acute care, administration, or ambulatory care by offering a range of core and elective learning experiences. Additionally, residents have the opportunity to serve as preceptors for Pharm.D. students throughout the year.
