Kevin Boehm, DO

Welcome to the Broward Health Emergency Medicine Residency Program. Our three-year ACGME-accredited post-graduate training program is dedicated to equipping physicians with the knowledge, skills and experience needed to excel in the specialty practice of Emergency Medicine. Upon successful completion, graduates are fully prepared for certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

Our program is proudly based at Broward Health, one of the nation's 10 largest public health systems, serving the Broward County community with excellence and compassion for over 85 years. About the Program

The Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Broward Health is a three-year training program that combines educational and hands-on experiences to prepare residents for successful careers in emergency medicine. As one of the 10 largest public healthcare systems in the United States, Broward Health is dedicated to delivering quality healthcare to the community while supporting the needs of physicians and employees. Residents gain diverse clinical experiences by rotating through Broward Health North, Broward Health Medical Center and the Salah Foundation Children's Hospital at Broward Health.

Broward Health North, a Level II trauma center, treats over 60,000 patients annually. Residents rotate through the Emergency Department, Trauma Team, MICU and Anesthesia. Broward Health Medical Center, a Level I trauma center, hosts rotations in its Emergency Department, which sees over 125,000 patients annually, as well as on the Trauma Team, Orthopedic Trauma Team, CVICU and Obstetrics. At the Salah Foundation Children's Hospital, residents train in its Level I trauma center, Pediatric Emergency Department, which sees over 25,000 pediatric patients annually, as well as in the PICU and NICU. Residents also are exposed to community-based emergency medicine at Broward Health Imperial Point, which sees approximately 35,000 patients a year. With this robust curriculum, our program aims to produce highly skilled resuscitationists ready to excel in any practice environment upon graduation.

  • Ultrasound Education: Comprehensive training led by a fellowship-trained ultrasound director.
  • Innovative Learning: Commitment to #FOAMed, including our own case-cast series at Broward Health Emergency Medicine Residency Case-Cast , and a focus on effective, evidence-based practices.
  • Diverse Faculty and Curriculum: Faculty with expertise in EMS, international medicine, technology, administration, medical education and advocacy, plus immersive simulation lab instruction.

Training Facilities


Broward Health Medical Center
Located in Fort Lauderdale, Broward Health Medical Center is Broward County’s largest hospital. Our 716-bed hospital includes a team of 3,100 medical professionals and more than 800 physicians who are dedicated to delivering compassionate and quality care. As the flagship hospital for Broward Health, Broward Health Medical Center is home to virtually every medical specialty. Broward Health Medical Center is proud of the quality care we have provided in Broward County for more than 85 years.  Our Emergency Department sees over 125,000 patients a year.

Broward Health North
Located in Deerfield Beach and is a 409-bed hospital. Offering a full continuum of care featuring a comprehensive stroke center, an adult level II trauma center, a neurological institute, a joint replacement center, cardiovascular services, as well as general, vascular, endovascular and neurosurgery. Broward Health North recently added a $78 million expansion to create a 53-bed, all private room, 36,000-square-foot emergency department with three dedicated trauma bays, six new operating rooms, and renovations to the hospital’s main entrance.  Our Emergency Department sees over 60,000 patients a year.

Broward Health Imperial Point
Located in Fort Lauderdale, Broward Health Imperial Point is a 204-bed community hospital providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a welcoming environment. Serving approximately 35,000 patients annually through its Emergency Department, the hospital plays a vital role in meeting the healthcare needs of the surrounding community. In addition to emergency services, Broward Health Imperial Point supports graduate medical education, with residents from our psychiatry and general surgery programs rotating through the facility.

Salah Foundation Children's Hospital
Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital at Broward Health is recognized by the Children's Hospital Association, providing family-centered care for newborns, neonates, children and youth. Our healthcare team features pediatricians representing numerous sub-specialties and pediatric nurses dedicated to serving the individual needs of children and their families. The hospital provides a multitude of pediatric specialty services including allergy/immunology, cardiology, dentistry, endocrinology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, nephrology, neurology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, psychiatry, pulmonology, rheumatology, surgery and special needs. Our otolaryngology, urology, neurosurgery, and plastic surgery specialists also treat our youngest of patients.  Our Pediatric Emergency Department sees over 25,000 patients a year.
