Welcome from the Program Director
The plastic surgery residency at Broward Health is an independent, three-year, ACGME-accredited program. One resident is accepted per year for three years. Working closely with three residents from Cleveland Clinic Florida, the complement of residents at the rotation sites will be a total of six.
Candidates who come to our program will enjoy an education from faculty and clinical experiences that offer a broad exposure to all aspects of the specialty of Plastic Surgery.
The curriculum is split between the Cleveland Clinic Florida (located in the western portion of Fort Lauderdale) and the Broward Health hospital system. The Cleveland Clinic rotation provides residents with exposure to private practices, pediatric surgery, burn surgery, and general cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.
Broward Health is one of the largest public health systems in the nation and includes five hospitals and multiple outpatient locations across Broward County. Residents will spend time at a busy level-one trauma hospital working with faculty who perform complex reconstructive procedures, microsurgery, breast reconstruction, hand surgery, and elective outpatient cosmetic procedures.
The full didactic curriculum will be split between the two institutions, allowing for a comprehensive review of the specialty required to become a safe, effective, and competent plastic surgeon well prepared for qualifying examinations and continuous certification.
The Fort Lauderdale and Miami region offers residents the opportunity to train in a vibrant, tropical setting with access to world-class dining, beaches, arts and cultural experiences.
We thank you for your interest in our program and encourage you to contact us if you need additional information.
