When you have bone, muscle or joint pain, it can impact all aspects of your life. Making even the simplest tasks a challenge to complete.
At Broward Health, our orthopedics experts have a variety of ways to test and diagnose your painful spine, arm, hip or leg symptoms – including X-ray and MRI imaging – often on the same day they occur.
Helping you heal and return to the life you love, fast.
There are two primary ways in which we can diagnose your orthopedic condition or injury.
Physically examining your injury is always the first step we take when diagnosing your orthopedic issue or condition. During the assessment, we’ll inspect the impacted area for three physical symptoms that indicate an issue:
As part of the exam, your doctor may gently press on or prod your injury. While this may be slightly painful and uncomfortable, it helps us check placement of the bone, muscle, and ligaments. It can also help us find deformities in your bones that could impact your treatment plan.
We may also ask you to move the problem area (walking across the room, for example) in order to assess for any impacts the injury has on your mobility and/or usage.
Depending on the severity of your condition or injury, your care team may order diagnostic imaging studies to better see the details of the bones and soft tissue being impacted.
As one of the largest orthopedics practices in South Florida with in-office X-ray and MRI imaging available, you can often get your imaging visit done on the same day as your physical exam. Reducing the number of visits overall.
And for any imaging needs that exceed our in-office capabilities, you have access to Broward Health’s full imaging services department, including CT and PET scans.
Our team of highly trained surgeons, nurses, imaging specialists and anesthesiologists partner with you to treat your musculoskeletal pain and conditions. Creating the personalized treatment plan you need to solve your bone, muscle and joint pain. Helping you move through life more easily, with less pain.
