Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Broward Health Imperial Point was awarded an "A" in the Fall 2020 assessment by The Leapfrog Group. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade rating recognizes Broward Health Imperial Point's efforts in protecting patients from preventable errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
"Our caregivers and employees are passionate about providing the best outcomes for our patients with safety at the forefront of all that we do," said Randy Gross, CEO of Broward Health Imperial Point. "Achieving this top rating is a recognition of our commitment to caring for the community."
Broward Health Imperial Point was among the 34% of hospitals across the United States awarded an ‘A’ in the Fall 2020 review.
"We see in the news every day the extraordinary courage of clinicians and staff caring for patients stricken by COVID-19. What’s less apparent — yet equally laudable — are the untold efforts behind the scenes to protect patients," said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. "We are grateful for the heroic efforts of hospitals across the nation and applaud their efforts that are protecting our families."
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses up to 27 national performance measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Leapfrog Hospital Survey and information from other supplemental data sources to assign grades. The safety grades are assigned to more than 2,600 general acute-care hospitals across America twice a year.
The Hospital Safety Grade’s methodology is peer-reviewed and published in the Journal of Public Safety. To see Broward Health Imperial Point’s full grade details, and to access patient tips for staying safe in the hospital, visit HospitalSafetyGrade.org.
