Broward Health Patients Regain In-Network Access to the Providers They Know and Trust on November 1.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Broward Health and UnitedHealthcare have reached a multi-year agreement that restores network access to Broward Health hospitals, facilities and physicians for UnitedHealthcare members. This includes those enrolled in UnitedHealthcare employer-sponsored, individual, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid plans. The new agreement goes into effect November 1, 2022.
“This is a win for our patients, and we are pleased that we have reached an agreement that will ensure our community and residents have access to the care they need,” said Shane Strum, Broward Health’s president and CEO. “As a safety net healthcare provider, Broward Health relies on fair and equitable reimbursement from our payer partners to ensure we can continue to provide the highest quality care to every patient who comes to us.”
From the beginning, Broward Health’s goal in working with UnitedHealthcare has always been about ensuring the health system and its caregivers can continue to meet the needs of its patients today and in the future.
“This new contract affirms how vital access to high-quality care is to the health of our community,” said Strum. “We thank patients, providers, caregivers, employers and other leaders for their support and patience throughout this process.”
Patients – especially those who may have delayed care – can begin scheduling appointments with Broward Health physicians immediately and will enjoy in-network status with UnitedHealthcare starting Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
“We deeply appreciate the trust patients have placed in our team,” said Joshua Lenchus, D.O., chief medical officer of Broward Health. “We look forward to welcoming you back to Broward Health.”
