Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood, Florida — The North Broward Hospital District, which oversees Broward Health, is pleased to welcome Jennifer B. Nicole to its board of commissioners. On June 9, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Commissioner Nicole and reappointed Chair Chris Pernicano, Commissioner Nancy Gregoire, Secretary/Treasurer Jonathan Hage and Vice Chair Paul Tanner. They join current commissioners Ray Berry and Stacy Angier.
Commissioner Nicole is an attorney with more than 20 years of experience. A shareholder in the Fort Lauderdale office of Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest commercial law firms, she focuses her practice on business litigation, intellectual property litigation and dispute resolution.

Commissioner Nicole’s prior experience in public service includes serving as chairperson of the Broward County Housing Authority. A member of Leadership Broward Class XXXI, Commissioner Nicole has also served on various local non-profit boards.
Board members that were reappointed include Chair Pernicano, the Chief Technology Officer for Synergist Technology, LLC. Chair Pernicano began serving on the North Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners in 2021 and was named Chair in 2023. Vice Chair Tanner, founder and owner of Las Olas Capital Advisors, has served on the board since 2022. Commissioner Gregoire is a partner at Birnbaum, Lippman & Gregoire, PLLC, and has served on the North Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners since 2017. Secretary/Treasurer Hage, the founder, president and chief executive officer of Charter Schools USA, has been a member of the hospital district’s board since 2021.
