Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Broward Health Imperial Point reached a significant milestone just over a year after opening its Jacqueline J. Bernstein & Marvin H. Weiner Imaging Center, earning the HeartFlow CT Quality Award.

This distinguished recognition places the hospital’s imaging center among the top-performing cardiovascular imaging programs worldwide, ranking in approximately the top 20% globally.

The award recognizes excellence in Coronary CT Angiography (CCTA) and HeartFlow Analysis, a non-invasive test that uses AI technology to turn heart scans into detailed 3D images. These images help physicians evaluate blood flow and assess coronary artery disease with greater precision. Recognition is based on superior image quality, advanced 3D modeling capabilities, accurate results, and a strong focus on patient-centered care.

“This achievement reflects the expertise of our team of radiologists and technologists, as well as our commitment to delivering high-quality imaging that helps guide life-saving cardiac care,” said Jose Encarnacion, regional manager of radiology at Broward Health Imperial Point.

Opened on January 28, 2025, the state-of-the-art imaging center is located on the first floor of the hospital and was made possible through a generous $5.5 million gift from philanthropists Jacqueline J. Bernstein and her partner, the late Marvin H. Weiner. One of the largest one-time donations in Broward Health’s history, their contribution reflects a deep appreciation for the exceptional, compassionate care Mr. Weiner received.

“Thanks to this generous investment in our hospital by the Marvin H. Weiner Foundation, our patients don’t need to travel outside of their community for world-class cardiovascular imaging,” said Robert Dahl, chief executive officer at Broward Health Imperial Point. “To be recognized globally just one year after opening the new suite speaks volumes about the quality of care that defines Broward Health.”

Designed with both innovation and patient experience in mind, the imaging suite features MRI and CT scanner rooms that face each other, with medical imaging technologists centrally positioned to enhance workflow efficiency, communication, and coordinated care.

The MRI experience is further enhanced through a unique audio and visual system, including a TV monitor, headphones, and mirrored glasses, allowing patients to watch and listen during their exam. “This significantly helps address one of the most common challenges of MRIs, claustrophobia, by improving comfort and reducing anxiety throughout the procedure,” said Christian Mariluz, coordinator for medical imaging and quality assurance at Broward Health Imperial Point.

The center also offers a comprehensive range of advanced radiology services, including X-rays, 3D mammography, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and interventional radiology, all supported by board-certified radiologists and specialized staff.
