Top grade affirms Broward Health’s commitment to excellence in patient care.
DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA - Broward Health North has been awarded an "A" Hospital Safety Grade for Spring 2024 by The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog. Leapfrog assigns a grade from A to F to hospitals nationwide based on more than 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them. Broward Health North is one of 29% of hospitals nationwide to earn this prestigious recognition.
"This grade is a credit to the Broward Health North team who are dedicated to providing safe, exceptional healthcare to our patients,” said Matthew Garner, CEO for Broward Health North. “We are committed to upholding the highest standards of patient care."
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
"Everyone who works at Broward Health North should be proud of this 'A' Hospital Safety Grade,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It takes complete dedication of at every level, and an ironclad commitment to putting patients first.
