Lauderdale Lakes, Florida - Broward HealthPoint, in partnership with the City of Lauderdale Lakes, proudly announced the launch of "Stay Healthy Together," a comprehensive community health initiative designed to enhance access to preventative and primary care throughout Broward County.

The initiative kicked off on Saturday, March 22, at Vincent Torres Park in Lauderdale Lakes, where local and state leaders, including State Representative Lisa Dunkley, Lauderdale Lakes Mayor Veronica Edward Phillips and Lauderdale Lakes Commissioners, joined various organizations to provide resources to the community.

Broward HealthPoint provided an array of essential healthcare services, including workshops, preventative screenings and access to primary care. Attendees also enjoyed music, packaged meals, fun games for children, face painting and other engaging activities for families.

“With Stay Healthy Together, we’re meeting people where they are, right here in their own neighborhoods, making access to care easier and more convenient,” said Melida Akiti, corporate transformation executive at Broward Health. “This is just the beginning; we are looking forward to partnering with other cities and organizations to bring healthcare directly into our communities.”

Broward Health is dedicated to enhancing healthcare access throughout Broward County, and a pivotal part of this commitment was the launch of the Better Together program in partnership with Memorial Healthcare System. Initiated in February, the program aims to provide primary and maternity care services directly within local communities. The Stay Healthy Together initiative marks the exciting start of our mission to transform the delivery of healthcare, ensuring that it is more accessible and effective for all residents of Broward County.

Over the next eight weeks, Broward HealthPoint’s mobile health units will be stationed at Vincent Torres Memorial Park three times a week. Following this period, the units will continue to visit once a week for the next two years, signifying a long-term investment in the health and well-being of the community. As part of the Stay Healthy Together initiative, these mobile health units will also travel to various cities across the county, bringing patient-centered primary care closer to home.

"This launch marks the beginning of our mission to change where and how we deliver healthcare by bringing that care directly to those who need it most,” said Shane Strum, President and CEO of Broward Health. “For more than 85 years, Broward Health has been dedicated to delivering top-tier care to all patients, regardless of their financial situation, but we recognize that healthcare must go beyond hospital walls.”
