Broward Health Imperial Point Is First Hospital in Broward County to Offer the Latest Mako Robotics System

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Broward Health Imperial Point is the first hospital in Broward County to offer the latest Stryker Mako 4 robotics surgical system for total hip, total knee and partial knee procedures.

“We are proud to be the first hospital in Broward County to offer this highly advanced technology to provide an enhanced joint replacement experience for patients,” said Broward Health Imperial Point Chief Executive Officer Robert Dahl. “This advanced robotic technology reflects our commitment to bringing innovative, state-of-the-art treatment options closer to home for Broward County residents that improve both the outcomes and experience for patients.”

The surgical system offers Mako’s SmartRobotics™ technology, which offers a higher level of precision and personalization to orthopedic care. Utilizing 3D CT-based planning coupled with haptic technology, the system allows a surgeon to create a personalized plan based on the patient’s anatomy before entering the operating room. During the procedure, surgeons can make any necessary adjustments while guiding the robotic arm to execute the intended surgery.

The next-generation technology offers enhanced patient outcomes, including less pain, faster recovery and longer-lasting implants.

“We are proud to offer the latest advancements in SmartRobotics™ technology for our patients,” Dahl said. "These additions to our robotic-assisted surgery offerings further demonstrate our commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare to the community.”
