"The Care I Received was Beyond Exceptional."

The Pompano Beach resident was rushed by ambulance to Broward Health Imperial Point where it was determined that he was experiencing a serious cardiac event. Zorovich was taken from the Emergency Department into the cardiac catheterization lab for a minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment where he received a ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) stent to open an artery.

“When it comes to a heart attack, time is of the essence,” said Mammen P. Zachariah, M.D., interventional cardiologist and the director of cardiovascular services at Broward Health Imperial Point. “Having a cardiac catheterization lab close to home allows our multidisciplinary medical team to quickly determine crucial and life-saving next steps in treatment.”

Zorovich is grateful for the lifesaving care that was delivered with compassion and expertise. “While the stent procedure was happening, there was a comfort level that I had about all the professionals doing their job,” he said. “As a team, they were just incredible.”

Two months after his STEMI procedure, Zorovich returned for a follow-up exam where a computerized tomography (CT) scan revealed blockage in one of his arteries. He received two more stents.
Now, Zorovich is back to doing what he loves: golfing, fishing and spending time with friends.

“The care I received was beyond exceptional,” he said. “From start to finish, this is the hospital has been the best experience I’ve ever had.”
