"I've Received Great Treatment"

As a pastor, Curtis Miller is comfortable talking to the masses. These days he has a new message taken from the book of life. Miller, 60, who is being treated for prostate cancer, doesn’t miss an opportunity to encourage men to get a health screening.

“If you have a family history of prostate,” he said, “it could occur early so you should monitor.”

When the Coconut Creek resident was diagnosed in 2017, it didn’t come as a surprise to him because his father and three brothers had prostate cancer. He began his treatment at Broward Health North.

“Mr. Miller was diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer initially,” said Mehmet Hepgur, M.D., a hematologist oncologist with Broward Health Physician Group. “He responded well to chemotherapy and his cancer is in remission, and we continue to monitor his Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) levels.”

“Ever since I started going to Broward Health North’s Cancer Center, I’ve received great treatment,” Miller said. “My health has been better and my PSA levels have been managed.”
