Cancer Resources at Broward Health

The moment you choose Broward Health for your cancer care—whether diagnosed here or referred from elsewhere—we’re ready to support you.

From your first appointment, our licensed clinical social workers help coordinate your care across departments, making sure your experience is seamless, supported and focused on healing. Here’s how we help:

  • Support Services – When you’re going through treatment, the last thing you should worry about is paperwork or delays. Our team helps you navigate health insurance, disability claims (short- and long-term), FMLA, Social Security, and more. We can also help arrange transportation, including gas gift cards if needed.
  • Home Health and Support – Your care doesn’t end when you leave the hospital. We help connect you with in-home services, medical equipment and hospice care when needed—so you have the right support wherever you are in South Florida.
  • Appearance Services – Cancer treatment can affect your physical appearance, which often impacts emotional well-being. Through our partnership with the American Cancer Society, eligible patients can receive grants to purchase wigs or head coverings that support their comfort and confidence.
  • Survivorship Support – Finishing treatment is a major milestone—but survivorship comes with its own challenges. We offer resources and referrals to trusted mental health providers, both within Broward Health and in the community, to help you adjust and thrive after treatment.
  • Financial Assistance – If you’re a permanent resident of Broward County and received care without insurance, you may qualify for financial assistance.See if you qualify for our Financial Assistance Program.
