Deerfield Beach, Florida - Broward Health North's Emergency Department nurses were saluted on Oct. 14 for their fearless dedication to caring for the community through a challenging health crisis. The celebration was part of national Emergency Nurses Week, which ends Oct. 17.
During the morning ceremony, Deerfield Beach Mayor Bill Ganz presented a proclamation for the emergency nurses and Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and firefighters with Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue Deerfield Beach raised an oversized American flag in salute.
“Emergency Nurses Week means a lot more this year than it has other years,” said Alice Taylor, CEO at Broward Health North. “Throughout the pandemic, our Emergency Department nurses worked fearlessly with compassion, with kindness, and they stepped up and treated patients without hesitation. We thank them for their bravery and dedication.”
“The North Broward Hospital District Board is so impressed by you all,” said Nancy Gregoire, chair of the Board, speaking to the Emergency Department nurses. “We are so pleased with you all and what you are accomplishing.”
Also, in attendance were Deerfield Beach Commissioner Bernie Parness; North Broward Hospital District Vice Chair Stacy Angier and Secretary/Treasurer Marie Waugh; and Broward Health leaders Alan Goldsmith, chief administrative officer and executive vice president, and Ashley Boxer, vice president of external affairs.
