Broward Health North Welcomes Michael A. Cornehls As New Chief Financial Officer

Michael CornehlsDeerfield Beach, FLorida – Broward Health North is pleased to announce Michael A. Cornehls has been named the hospital’s new chief financial officer (CFO).

“Michael has a strong background in finance and nearly a decade of experience in the health care industry that will be of huge benefit to the hospital and system,” said Matthew K. Garner, chief executive officer of Broward Health North. “With his proven track record of success in strategic fiscal planning and analysis, we look forward to the growth and financial insight he will bring to our team.”

Cornehls most recently served as CFO at Reston Hospital Center, part of HCA Healthcare, in Fairfax County, Virginia. His previous experience also includes serving as assistant chief finance officer at HCA Florida JFK Hospital in Palm Beach County and HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Cornehls earned a master’s degree in health education & behavior from the University of Florida in Gainesville and an MBA in complex health systems from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. He holds bachelor’s degrees in human biology and in business administration from the University of Wisconsin in Green Bay and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
