Fort Lauderdale, FL -- Broward Health is pleased to announce that Broward Health Children's Hospital will be renamed the Salah Foundation Children's Hospital at Broward Health.
The new name is in honor of the Salah Foundation's generous $10 million, dollar-for-dollar, all-or-nothing challenge grant where the Broward Health Foundation successfully raised another $10 million from the community to match this extraordinary gift. The ambitious, two-year capital campaign raised more than $22 million toward the $52 million renovation and expansion of the 125-bed acute care children’s hospital at Broward Health Medical Center. Other major contributors to the campaign include Mrs. Lorraine Thomas, Pediatrix Medical Group and EmCare.
Renovations will include new private, neonatal pediatric intensive care units and private pediatric suites, part of a new facility that will be both kid-friendly and family-centered. We have exceptional doctors, nurses and healthcare workers at the Children’s Hospital, and soon we will have an exceptional, state-of-the-art facility to match. This is an important step toward meeting the needs of the community and providing the highest level of care for our youngest patients. Construction should be completed by mid-2019.
