At Broward Health, we provide each of our pregnant and breastfeeding new parents with evidence-based breastfeeding education, helping you successfully breastfeed your infant for the duration of your lactation journey.
Whether you’re breastfeeding, pumping or even formula feeding, we have board-certified lactation consultants and breastfeeding experts available at Maternity Place at Broward Health Medical Center and Maternity Place at Broward Health Coral Springs to support you on this new journey – regardless of where you gave birth.
It’s common to have questions related to lactation and breastfeeding as you get closer to welcoming your new baby. To help you prepare for this new stage of life, Broward Health offers breastfeeding classes as part of our programming for new and expecting parents. In the class, our lactation specialists explore:
When you deliver at Broward Health, we encourage skin-to-skin contact and latching immediately following birth to help with bonding, and temperature-control colostrum production – that nutrient rich first breast milk sometimes referred to as liquid gold.
For patients who want to pump, we have hospital-grade breast pumps available for use.
Even following discharge, our lactation experts are available to support new families of South Florida. Whether you join us for one of our free breastfeeding support groups or need to rent one of our hospital-grade breast pumps in the middle of the night, Broward Health is here for you. We even have one-on-one lactation consultations available for a low, out of pocket cost.
There are currently no upcoming scheduled classes or events. Please check back for updates.
The maternity health experts at Broward Health – both at Broward Health Medical Center and Broward Health Coral Springs – are leaders in South Florida for labor and delivery. From pre-registration through lactation services, we’re here for you and your baby, getting you both off to the best, healthiest start possible.
